Brian Olatunji a 15 year drag racing veteran has competed in a variety of NHRA categories from Super Gas to Top Alcohol Funny Car. 2012 will mark the year Brian O will look to make his mark in IndyCar’s Indy Lights division. In addition to drag racing he has his sights set on the Firestone Freedom 100 (during the Indy 500) and Chevrolet Belle Isle Grand Prix events. “I know competing in the Indy Lights series is an evolutionary step in my racing career. Of course drag racing will always be my first love, but it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity I can’t turn down,” says Olatunji.

Champion Spark Plugs has a unique online video contest where contestants are judged on the following three criteria: Inspirational Quality (34%); Relevance to Theme/Best Depiction of a Champion (33%); and number of votes (33%). That’s where the fans come in!

You can make your voice heard by voting for Brian O’s video at: http://engauge.votigo.com/contests/showentry/1011576/null/4. The voting period is January 2 – February 5, 2012.

“My team put together an AMAZING video that chronicles our quest for a championship! Your votes will be the driving force to make this dream possible. I need you to vote for my video,” said an energetic Olatunji!

Brian O has ambitions to compete in the Indy Lights events at the Firestone Freedom 100 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 25, 2012 and the Chevrolet Belle Isle Grand Prix in Detroit on June 3, 2012. In addition he and the Leadfoot Motorsports team are finalizing their NHRA drag racing plans. “My team and I are excited and really looking forward to the challenges of IndyCar and winning races in the NHRA,” stated Olatunji!

For the sixth consecutive year, The Leadfoot Foundation, Inc (501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization) will host the “Driving Excellence” charity event. “Driving Excellence” is the marquee event for the Leadfoot Foundation. During the event school supplies are collected then distributed to youth K-12th grade. “Our goal is to give back to the very community from which I came. After all, it takes a village to raise a child,” stated Brian Olatunji (Olatunji is Chairman and President of the Leadfoot Foundation, Inc). Detroit is prime territory to not only give back but focus on school supplies for youth. Although, Detroit has recently been well documented for trouble with public schools, the Leadfoot Foundation has been making an impact by providing back-to-school essentials for the past five years.

The Leadfoot Foundation enjoys strong partners with Pepsi and the U.S. Army; however it relies on the community to assist in their efforts. “The Driving Excellence charity event is the platform we use to ensure youth have the necessities to perform in the classroom. It is essential for everyone in a position to give, to bring $10 or more in unopened school supplies to the event to assist those in need,” said an emphatic Olatunji.

This year’s event will take place from noon until 5 pm on Saturday, September 17th at the Lighthouse on Belle Isle Park.

The Leadfoot Foundation has assembled a team of volunteers who are enthusiastic about serving each and every young person with school supplies to begin their school year. Olatunji continued, “We have our sights on continuing to grow this event. Ultimately, we want this event to be known as THE SCHOOLS SUPPLIES DRIVE of the City of Detroit. I am adamant about giving back especially given I am a proud Detroiter and a product of Detroit Public Schools!”

In addition to the collection and distribution of school supplies there will be a live DJ, hot rods on display, exotic motorcycles, face painting as well as five new 2012 Chrysler vehicles. Gleaners Community Food Bank has also been gracious to provide snacks for the young people to enjoy. The event provides an opportunity for the community to interact with each other through activities such as a kids station while benefiting with essential back-to-school supplies.

For more details as well as a place to donate, please visit The Leadfoot Foundation’s website at: www.leadfootfoundation.org.

On a clear Detroit morning, just one day after the U.S. Army’s 236th birthday, Brian Olatunji took flight with the Golden Knights. It was a long wait for Brian O, who was previously scheduled to jump with the U.S. Army’s Parachute Team last fall until the worst Midwest storm cell in over 30 years kept the plane and Brian O’s skydiving ambitions grounded.

The Golden Knights is the U.S. Army’s official aerial demonstration team. Made up of real Soldiers the team travels around the United States performing demonstrations at major events connecting the Army with the American people. Taking Brian O on his wild ride were members of Team Tandem, who have jumped from a plane with everyone from former president George H. W. Bush to sports stars and actors such as Tiger Woods and Chuck Norris. Ensuring Brian’s enjoyment and safety on his aerial adventure were Airborne Rangers SSG Aaron Figel and SSG Reese Pendleton. After taking off from Selfridge Air Force Base, SSG Figel freefell with Brian O while SSG Pendleton caught all the action on camera. With Lake St. Claire as a backdrop Brian O and the Golden Knights free feel thousands of feet towards Michigan below.

Brian O was thrilled at the opportunity, “Exhilarating is the only way to describe the experience! Certainly something I would do again in a heartbeat! The Golden Knights are the best in the world and their professionalism is second to none. After all, SSG Pendleton hung outside of the aircraft like passenger 57 and was able to capture my enthusiasm and experience while free falling from 14,000 feet above the earth. Awesomeness!!!”

The partnership began in 2010 with an assault both on and off the race track. Now entering into the second season in tandem with the U.S. Army, Brian O looks to further enhance the Army Strong message and reach even more young people throughout 2011. “One of the great joys of being a professional race car driver is the captive audience I enjoy with young people. This forum gives me a great platform to enlighten young people about pursuing their dreams, however using education as their foundation! (Olatunji is a graduate of Kettering University with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering). Interacting with young people and informing them of career options internally and externally unique to the Army is very gratifying,” said an honored Brian O.

Our Army is built on values, character and commitment which are also cornerstones for a successful motorsports program. Brian O and his race team are elated to have the strongest force behind them as they embark on the 2011 NHRA season. “Our Army Strong Soldiers exhibit strength, fortitude and a willingness to serve at all cost. We are truly blessed to live in a country where so many selflessly serve to allow us freedom. To represent these men and women is one of the highest honors one could receive. My team and I are humbled to partner with our Army,” stated a proud Brian O.

As part of the partnership, Brian O and Leadfoot Motorsports will join the Army’s efforts in reaching young Americans and their influencers about the many education and leadership opportunities available in the Army. The U.S. Army is also a proud supporter of Brian Olatunji’s philanthropic efforts and his personal charity, the Leadfoot Foundation, Inc. For the past five years the 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization has held an annual event to equip under privileged youth in Detroit with back to school essentials. The U.S. Army is extending its presenting partnership during this year’s 6th Annual Leadfoot Foundation Driving Excellence Charity Event. The event will be held at the lighthouse on Belle Isle Park, Detroit, MI on Saturday, September 17, 2011.

Brian Olatunji joins the U.S. Army Racing family which consists of Tony Schumacher, driver of the U.S. Army NHRA Top Fuel dragster, and Antron Brown of Don Schumacher Racing, along with Ryan Newman, who pilots the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series No. 39 U.S. Army Chevy, and Tony Stewart of Stewart-Haas Racing. The Army team of drivers represents more than one million brave Army Strong Soldiers, and give the men and women who serve this country a race team to be proud of. The motorsports program also provides opportunities for the Army to interact with prospects and influencers, and assists recruiters in building an all-volunteer force for our Nation.

For the third consecutive year, Pepsi will continue its partnership with race car driver Brian Olatunji as he embarks on his 2011 pursuit of championship glory. Pepsi enjoys longstanding involvement in motorsports with notable current NASCAR drivers and NHRA greats. It is safe to say Pepsi has an undeniable past in motorsports and perhaps a long future. “Now Pepsi only has 27 years to go to match Kenny Bernstein’s record for longest continuous drag racing partnership ,” joked a motivated Brian O. “Brian O and the Leadfoot Motorsports organization present a great value proposition and we are pleased to have them in our portfolio,” said William Langford, Vice President of Field Marketing for Pepsi.

Brian O will kick off his race season at the largest single day drag race in the world, the 34th Annual Night Under Fire at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH. There he plans to keep the 40,000 fans on hand entertained by blasting down the strip in his black, white and blue Pepsi themed hot rod. The Detroit native will wrap up his racing season at home during the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals in Milan, MI.

During races, fans will have the opportunity to interact with the team and participate in Pepsi promotions. Race goers will also have the chance to win the Pepsi SwagPak™ presented by Leadfoot Media. Brian O explains, “We try to give our fans and our partners more value than traditional partnerships!” This prize pack is given away at Brian O’s pit area during events. It consists of Pepsi and Brian O merchandise. The SwagPak™ has had overwhelming reception among race fans and been a staple since the beginning of Brian O’s partnership with Pepsi. At upcoming events the fans chances of winning will increase as more swag than ever will be given away. “The fans are the show! After all it won’t be much fun without thousands cheering you on! I look forward to speaking with each and every one of them,” said Brian O.

Pepsi is also a proud supporter of Brian Olatunji’s philanthropic efforts and his personal charity, the Leadfoot Foundation, Inc. For the past five years the 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization has held an annual event to equip under privileged youth in Detroit with back to school essentials. Pepsi is extending its presenting sponsorship during this year’s 6th Annual Leadfoot Foundation Driving Excellence Charity Event. The event will be held at the lighthouse on Belle Isle Park, Detroit, MI on Saturday, September 17, 2011. In addition to this event, Brian O keeps himself busy off the track by speaking to youth throughout the Midwest during the 2011 season about education and pursuing their dreams.

Brian O reflects, “Pepsi is a major contributor to the growth of our program. We’re pleased to continue our partnership and our goal is to deliver on and off the race track! We hope to keep them for many years to come.”

Fort Knox, KY - 50 mph wind, torrential rain and the largest clustered fall storm pattern in the Midwest since 1977 kept Brian Olatunji grounded from his madden voyage with the U.S. Army Golden Knights. When presented with the opportunity to jump from a perfectly good airplane and plunge to the earth at up to 180 mph Brian O quickly jumped at the chance. “This has always been on my bucket list and doing it with the best in the world is going to be incredible,” said Olatunji. “I’m humbled to be a representative for our Army and honored for this opportunity! To say I’m excited is an understatement! Terminal velocity 14,000 feet up is my goal!”

Along with U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Dailey, Brian O made the trek from Michigan to Fort Knox, KY to the Army post where the nation’s vault and gold are located. Unseasonably warm weather greeted them upon arrival Monday afternoon; however Mother Nature did not stay kind as the weather made a complete 180 in the days to follow. Due to the Midwest super-storm the excursion and lifetime experience has been put on ice for NHRA U.S. Army driver Brian O.

“Although I’m a bit disappointed, it was great getting up to speed on the different facets of skydiving and competitive jumping. Interacting with the Knights (who are Army Soldiers) was definitely the highlight. Their world is very fascinating and has some of the same attributes as strapping into one of the fastest hot rods on the planet. I’m looking forward to getting the call to fall from the sky again, however this time I’ll have to have a one-on-one with Mother Nature beforehand. Now if only I could arrange for a tour of the treasury itself…. Hmmmm,” joked Olatunji.

Together with the forceful winds, atmospheric pressures were at Category 3 Hurricane levels. Although up for the challenge both Brian O and the Golden Knights knew they were no match for the strongest non-costal storm in the history of the United States.

One season ends and another begins! Considering our Leadfoot Motorsports racing program put an explanation point on the 2010 racing campaign with our best performance of the season, that momentum and mindset is what we’re taking into the off-season. Opposed to recapping what turned out to be a great season I’d rather take the time to thank the team for an incredible ride as we look forward to the next level. THANK YOU, TEAM LEADFOOT as well as our fantastic marketing partners!

Meanwhile, over at Leadfoot Media we’re in “the soup” working hot and heavy on a program we are both excited and looking forward to, to roll out in 2011 and beyond! Progression is the name of the game and I’m sure you all will be both surprised by our direction but also compelled to keep watch. We are also looking for more ways to engage and interact with you all. If you have any suggestions feel free to let us know. I’ve recently stepped up my Twitter game and looking to keep everyone informed on the “latest and greatest.”

The off-season is an interesting time given that it is just as busy as race season. I’m off to the NHRA Vegas 2 race in the AM, so if you see me around be sure to say “SUP.” We are pleased to announce Drive Train Specialists (DTS) are back on board for a 9th consecutive season. We are also partnered again with Rodger’s Chevrolet (Woodhaven, MI) for a second season which is a testament to the economy improving and Chevy sales increasing. In the meantime plans are in the works with our current and hopeful marketing partners who we hope to announce soon. Check back often for updates on our progress and follow me on twitter at: @brianoracing.

Until then… Live fast, drive hard!!!

The first night in October proved to be a fast one as tons of fans flooded Milan Dragway. Fresh off of a new Martin Technology car setup, Brian Olatunji continued the momentum brought on by several days of testing in preparation for the night’s festivities. “It is always great to end the season on a high note. It really speaks to the hard work the crew has put in all season,” said Olatunji. Last race season Brian O’s fastest pass in his Pepsi Hot Rod was a 10.60, and during the final race of the 2010 season he improved to a 9.82 second elapsed time in a losing effort during All Motor class eliminations.

All of Brian’s runs would have been good enough to compete for the win in the Open Comp category, which Brian O was participating in at the beginning of the night. Unfortunately Brian O and his Pepsi Hot Rod are too fast off the starting line for the Open Comp class. The christmas tree runs at a slower pace in the category, and Brian O being the fastest leaver on the grounds was tripping the red light during Open Comp qualifying before eventually switching back to All Motor. Before the night was done the Leadfoot driver was thinking about next year, “We are already in preparation for next season and look to have an even more sizable impact. The championship is all we’re focused on over the winter.”

Brian O and the team continued Leadfoot’s tradition of going above and beyond for it’s marketing partners. As Brian O explained, “The hot rod ran well and we accomplished our marketing objectives. What more can I say!” As always, Pepsi and U.S. Army prizes were tossed into the packed grandstands and Brian addressed the crowd over the dragway’s PA system. To listen to Brian O’s short discussion for the fans click here!

It has been said that young people are our future, however I also like to believe they are our “right now.” Each time I get the opportunity to interact and speak with the next generation, I am encouraged and astounded by the things I learn. After all, my goal is to always encourage and offer perspective, while also gaining from their perspective as well. In the past few weeks I have had the opportunity to speak to a range of high school students around the Metro Detroit area about a diverse array of topics. Each school and student population is unique. The overwhelming consistency is that these students wanted to know how they could improve themselves as well as the world around them. I certainly enjoyed the dialogue and hope that in some small part that I made an impression and ultimately impacted their lives.

Editor’s Note: Brian has made 7 personal apperances for schools and charities so far this fall on behalf of the U.S. Army, Pepsi and his many other parnters.

The Leadfoot Motorsports team was poised and ready for a race win as Brian O took the Pepsi Hot Rod out in front of the near sellout crowd on August 6th. The team had made several test laps in anticipation for the race, which placed it among the fastest cars in the field. Excitement turned to disappointment as the motor suffered a major malfunction on the last qualifying lap. The team later learned that a bearing had failed due to foreign contaminants in the engine.

The team’s new partnership with Martin Technology was well timed as work began on the engine immediately after the event. The repairs and modifications were completed just in time for the next race on September 3rd, but due to the time crunch no testing dates could be worked in before the race kicked off. The car made a strong instillation lap on the first qualifying pass. Brian O lifted off the gas before the finish line to insure that the car was safely prepared. All nuts and bolts were checked on the new look engine. On the second qualifying lap the Hot Rod’s transmission began to leak some fluid and in the interest of safety Brian O decided to park the car. Due to the limitations of the racing environment repairs would have to wait until the Pepsi Hot Rod was back at the Martin Technology shop.

The transmission was quickly repaired at the Martin Technology center and testing began immediately after. Due to the new engine combination the car’s setup has changed completely from the season’s starting point in June. It is being dialed in with each pass. The Pepsi Hot Rod was tested on three different dates and the car is picking up speed as the new combination is being dialed in. Brian O and the entire Leadfoot organization expects to win for the last race of the season in October.

At both events the team did not let a parked car slow them down. Marketing Partner Initiatives were all cranked up to the max. The team made a group effort to entertain the record attendance at the August and the September Milan Dragway Heads Up Series races. T-Shirts and other prizes were tossed in front of the grandstands by Brian O, U.S. Army Soldiers and the Leadfoot Models. During the September race, Brian O hyped the crowd on the PA system. Click here to listen to the MP3!

On the Friday of July 4th weekend, a standing room only crowd piled into Milan Dragway. All were witnesses to gorgeous weather, hot racing action and fireworks. Brian Olatunji and the entire Leadfoot Motorsports crew showed off American pride with the red, white and blue of Pepsi. As Brian O signed autographs, the U.S. Army hosted race fans in the Leadfoot pits with a Hummer featuring the video game Rockband.

Improving from June’s performance Brian Olatunji qualified in the 10th position, after clearing up the mechanical troubles from the last race and repairing the minimal damage to the quarter panel next to the Rodgers Chevrolet decal. The team has begun fine tuning the hot rod to get a leg up on the competition. As qualifying unfolded the Pepsi Hot Rod’s Toyo Tires spun faster with each lap down the race track. During eliminations Brian O was eventually edged out by fellow Lucas Oil driver Ben Mens. Thanks to the on track improvements, Olatunji is now 7th in the championship point standings for the All Motor class.

The Milan Dragway track announcers again welcomed Brian O into the booth for another live interview in front of the capacity crowd. Click here take a listen!

In an effort to improve the on track performance the Leadfoot team installed a new ignition box onto the Pepsi Hot Rod. The crew is now able to fine tune the car with the assistance of a lap top using the sophisticated Racepak program. This also enables the team to record telemetry from major components on the car, allow for detailed analysis after laps have been made. This and other new parts and pieces were tested at Milan Dragway on July 14th and 16th. A total of 15 laps were made. Brian O is looking forward to taking this new speed to the competition at the next race on August 6th.

In addition to racing and testing, Brian Olatunji made a personal appearance at the Knight’s NAPA Auto Parts 1st Annual Car Show in Commerce, MI on July 17th. The Pepsi / U.S. Army Hot Rod was the first car on display. It was parked next to the NAPA Nitro Funny Car and was seen by customers and passersby for over 5 hours. Brian O signed hero cards and had fun chatting with the locals during this appearance.

When called upon to enlighten the next generation I always feel an immediate responsibility to share and hopefully impart my life experiences to help make an impact. Over the off-season, I was asked to speak as a keynote speaker and presenter during two unique career days. Although this was not my first foray into speaking to students, about career options and life choices, I always feel a greater sense of need in the inner-city. Especially Detroit considering that it is my hometown. I was asked to speak at two Detroit schools, Denby Technical High School as the keynote speaker in addition to Cody High School as a presenter during their annual career day celebration. Given that I am a product of the same public school system, for my primary education, I understand the challenges, obstacles and pitfalls facing inner-city youth. Many people say Detroit is a dying place, however when engaged in a conversation with our next generation I am encouraged to know the bright minds yet to ascend on the world. Although I am tabbed as a “race car driver” during the sessions my focus is immediately on education. I impress upon them that I know firsthand that education is the cornerstone to pursuing ones dream and success beyond measure.

I met several interesting young people who expressed interest in fields ranging from the arts to law. Of course I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the occasional aspiring engineer! All of the students were fascinated about the many aspects of racing and some intriguing questions were thrown my way. In this game it is great to have quick reflexes and the same can be said about engaging in conversation with young people. Especially high school students! As always I encouraged them to think outside the box and explore the virtuous and endless possibilities this world has to offer. I am proud to have been asked to spend some time with the young people and hopefully our interaction will inspire them to reach for their dreams and accomplish the impossible.

Until next time… Live fast, drive hard!!!

New was the theme when Brian Olatunji and the entire Leadfoot Motorsports team arrived for their first race of the 2010 season. Brian O and the entire Pepsi Racing team arrived with much to be excited about. The spectators on hand felt the energy with the new look hot rod. U.S. Army Soldiers provided extra excitement and pride as they set up camp in the party that is the Leadfoot Motorsports pit area. Dark clouds, rain and strong 70 mph winds in close proximity to the track threatened to cancel plans, but much to everybody’s delight the racing action kicked off without interruption on June 4th at Milan Dragway, just outside of Detroit.

Staff Sergeant Rojas and other U.S. Army personnel joined Brian Olatunji and the Leadfoot Models in front of the grandstands for the traditional Leadfoot prize toss. Brian O worked up the crowd and handed out Pepsi swag including T-Shirts & Pepsi cans. The enthusiastic crowd loudly cheered on O and the Soldiers for prizes to be tossed their way.

Picking up from where he left off last year, Brian O headed to Milan Dragway’s control tower for a few words to the thousands of enthusiastic spectators on the public address system. Due to a break in the on track action the interview was expanded to a staggering 15 minutes. Brian O and the track’s announcer entertained the masses with discussion of the intense competition surrounding the new racing season. The announcer commented about the professional look of the race team and Brian O took the opportunity to plug all Marketing Partners. Olatunji got to discuss in detail the return of Pepsi and the addition of U.S. Army, Rodgers Chevrolet and Dirget.com. Fans were invited to come over to the Leadfoot pit area and thank the Soldiers in person for the protection they provide our nation. Brian gave an enthusiastic outlook to the rest of the year leaving fans hungry for more.

Brian O’s first qualifying run of the night was a shakedown pass that showed much potential and locked the Pepsi Racing team into the 11th qualifying position. The entire Leadfoot Motorsports team had worked many man hours throughout the offseason to increase performance, particularly on starting line take off. In Round 2 of qualifying the hard worked proved itself as the hot rod got off to its fastest start ever. Unfortunately the car simultaneously suffered a minor mechanical part failure with serious potential consequences. Due to the breakage, Lucas Oil spilled oil under the rear tires, but Olatunji was able to gather the car back into his control and avoid major damage to the race car. “After I put it into second gear the rear tires began to move and I quickly corrected it to avoid problems. I talked to the car all the way to a stop,” said a reflective Olatunji. Fans who witnessed the pass told the Leadfoot team that they thought for sure there was going to be a crash. Brian O made a great save, but unfortunately nicked the right rear Toyo Tires slick. Leadfoot always has safety at the forefront and the decision was made to not make another run until the tire could be accessed properly.

Throughout the event the Leadfoot Models informed fans of the new Pepsi Swagpak™ presented by Leadfoot Media. Spectators were told that there were prizes being given away in the Brian Olatunji pit area. When they arrived they discovered that raffle ticket stubs were attached to Brian Olatunji hero cards. Last season there was only one Swagpak™ winner per event at Milan Dragway. This year the Leadfoot team has upped it to one winner every hour, giving more fans a chance at winning and also drawing more fans to the Leadfoot pit area. Each winner receive a Pepsi grab bag full of goodies.

That’s definitely the theme of the day. The Leadfoot Media team is a day away for embarking on our most ambitious undertaking to date. We are launching a new marquee and cornerstone to our marketing business. Ian and I have been working tirelessly over the brisk winter months on this project which we hope will yield fruit. Tomorrow morning I will board a plane enroute to the “West Sideeee,” Pomona, California to the NHRA Winternationals as I’ve done many times before. Only this time will be unique because I will have our new product in toe “Dynamic Impulse™ Magazine Service,” (shameless plug: check out more info about the service here) which I hope to generates customers during the event. Considering this is the 50th running of the Winternationals and most definitely a historic event perhaps the same can be said one day for the Leadfoot legacy and our “new” product.

Ian and I have been refining our product and we believe it will offer value to the racing community. Now the true test is whether or not I return with orders in hand. Needless to say you can’t miss a shot you don’t take and we’re without question taking a shot. In fact there is currently nothing in the industry to compare therefore we are somewhat hopefully pioneering a new market. Just as the internal combustion engine replaced horse drawn carriages hopefully we’ll replace the current and become the industry standard!

On the racing front we’re certainly looking forward to our 2010 season. We have resigned many of our long time partners such as; Lucas Oil, Toyo Tires, Drive Train Specialists, North Channel Graphics and Pepsi! We’ve also began to meet as a team to game plan and strategize on capturing the 2010 NHRA All Motor and Chaos crowns. I’ll elaborate more on our exciting marketing partnerships as well as the team a little later. For now our eyes are on the prize with visions firmly set on acquiring customers at Pomona. Wish us luck.

Until next time… Live fast, drive hard!!!

Detroit, MI – Aspiring NHRA Fuel Funny Car driver and 2005 Kettering University (formally GMI) graduate in Mechanical Engineering; Brian Olatunji and the Leadfoot Motorsports team are pleased to continue to fly the banner of Drive Train Specialists for the upcoming 2010 NHRA All Motor and Chaos heads-up divisions.

Fans rarely see the benefits of strong mechanical components and skilled technicians, however for a eighth consecutive season Brian O and the Leadfoot Motorsports team will continue to sing the praises of both as Drive Train Specialists will continue to partner with their program. This partnership began in 2003 and continues to be Brian O and Leadfoot Motorsports longest running partnership.

“Racers always speak of applying power to the racetrack however they very rarely speak of one of the most integral components, the rear end. As far as I’m concerned Drive Train Specialists is the only place to purchase and install components to apply power to get you down the track in a hurry. Drive Train Specialists has been on board with our program from day one and I am always humbled considering they believed in me when there was nothing more than a broke college student and a dream. For that I am forever thankful,” said Olatunji.

Stated Olatunji, “Continuing our partnership is marquee but we could not do this without providing value to our partners and we are thankful our partners such as Toyo Tires continue to see the value of our partnership.”

Drive Train Specialist is a unique company because they provide rear end, driveshaft components, expert installation and service to not only the motorsports community but also for any make or model passenger vehicle. From your daily driver to the most specification specific application you can conceive.

Stated Olatunji, “We have had the reliability and durability of having the best rear end components in our hot rod since 2003 and we look forward to our continuing partnership with Drive Train Specialists!”

Value, value, value! That’s the primary focus of each of the programs the Leadfoot Motorsports team embarks upon when partnering. We are always excited to hear of the value proposition of our relationship from our partners.

“We personally thank Ms. Rissman and the entire Drive Train Specialists staff for their unwavering belief in our program and look forward to a promising 2010 season. To our many fans look for a dynamic marketing campaign filled with opportunities to interact with the Leadfoot Motorsports team as well as a sleek new paint scheme on the hot rod,” said a jubilant Olatunji.

Every season part of the allure for the fans is coming out to see the new paint schemes adorning the race cars. 2010 will be no different for Brian O and the Leadfoot Motorsports team who for a fifth consecutive season will fly the vinyl graphics of the premiere graphics company in the Midwest, North Channel Graphics.

“I have always looked forward to the beginning of the new racing season both as a driver but definitely as a fan so I can check out the new paint schemes the various race teams debut. When I was a kid, the first edition of Nation Dragster provided the platform and it rarely disappointed. We hope to maintain that excitement with fans this season as we will once again give our fans a fresh graphics package to reflect our 2010 campaign,” said Olatunji.

Brian O and team will continue to represent North Channel Graphic with the intent of capturing both the NHRA All Motor and Chaos titles. Olatunji and team have already begun preparations for the impending 2010 campaign. “The value of the Leadfoot Motorsports program and achieving the objectives of our partners is paramount. We appreciate the recognition of value our partners place on our program. Of course having a stellar looking hot rod does nothing but help us achieve this thanks to North Channel Graphics,” stated Olatunji.

The Leadfoot Motorsports team is mateiculously preparing the Pepsi Chevrolet Monte Carlo for competition with the season to begin May 7th at Milan Dragway located in Milan, MI. “We thank Mr. Ken Willemse and the entire North Channel Graphics company for continuing to believe in our program and offering the opportunity to increase oneanother’s value. To our many fans look for a dynamic marketing campaign filled with opportunities to interact with the Leadfoot Motorsports team as well as a sleek new paint scheme on the hot rod,” said a jubilant Olatunji.

Seeing is believing! That’s the theme of our recent activities while hosting the Leadfoot Foundation’s 4th Annual Youth Empowerment Car Show charity event. The objective of the event is to provide back-to-school essentials to the underserved community from which I grew up. Notwithstanding is the wealth of talent and vision of these young people to make a difference in our ever changing world, the Leadfoot Foundation takes great pride in providing a vehicle to help cultivate these dreams. Although there were overcast for much of the event, interaction with tomorrow’s future provided all the sunshine and optimism one could ask for. I recall one conversation with a young man who when asked what he wanted to be when he grew up quickly stated, “a mechanic!” Given that he and I were engaged in a one-on-one conversation I asked why. He expressed his desire to work with cars and I could see his passion for the automobile in his eyes. I then went on to ask if he knew anything about engineering, specifically mechanical engineering. He told me it had something to do with designing things, although he revealed he had never met a mechanical engineer or any engineer for that matter. I went on to explain how mechanical engineering was the cornerstone for automotive ingenuity. He not only expressed an interest but was very inquisitive about the opportunities mechanical engineering could provide. Of course I saw this as the perfect time to let the cat out of the bag. When I told him I went to school for mechanical engineering and worked in the automotive industry as a mechanical engineer I could see the light bulb go off in his head. With great excitement in his voice he said, “But you drive the Pepsi race car.” Of course I acknowledged my chosen career path I did not want to lose site of how education is and will remain an integral part of my life and it’s contribution to me living my dream.

Ultimately I felt as if that young man was inspired by our conversation and my sincere desire is that our conversation gave him a broader perspective to the world around him. There were many other conversations with the hundreds of aspiring minds in attendance; however that one stuck out to me the most. In addition to the inspirational conversations I was overjoyed to see each and every one of the young people leave with a bundle of school supplies courtesy of the many contributors to our annual event. The goals of the event have remained firm since it’s inception but the vehicle we employed to achieve them changed drastically this year. We asked that attendees bring a minimum of $10 in unopened school supplies. To see the outpour of support from the community was simply something special. The Leadfoot Foundation and the committee who work tirelessly throughout the year to make this event a success are already hard at work on next years 5th annual event. I am more than looking forward to the event. I know with tactical hard work it will even more exceptional with a greater impact! To all who donated, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!” To our next generation, “Here’s to a successful and productive school year!” Until next… Live Fast, Drive Hard!!!

So there’s definitely a recurring theme regarding my obvious love of music from the previous intro to my last blog entry. However the Luther Vandross hit, “If Only for One Night” comes to mind when I think of my most recent activities. In my quest of chasing the dream as I like to put it I’ve done a tremendous array of activities and odd jobs to earn capitol to continue to fuel my dream. As you may be aware racing is fueled by good old fashioned green backs therefore the quicker and faster you go the more of it you need. Winning, well that all together requires just about an arm and both legs in addition to the cash. Lol. During my interesting travels this past month we competed in a couple of events which went well. You can check our schedule and photo gallery for results and a photographical montage through our events. I usually like to reserve this space for things which have taken place outside of our scheduled racing events to give you some incite on myself and team. John Force likes to relay stories of him dressing as the Wendy’s girl during a time when he needed fuel money to get to an event. Well I can’t say I’ve ever done that, but I can cross car hauling truck driver off the list. I’m sure your likely thinking how is that interesting… Simply put, this gig was for the Motorsports Hall of Fame!

Admittingly I was compensated for the task; however I was totally a kid in a candy store considering I was entrusted to haul around some of the most famous and historically relevant vehicles in motorsport history. The first of which was a 1978 Lola the championship winning hot rod of Luigi Calamai. Then there was the 2006 championship winning CART car of Sébastien Bourdais. Last but certainly not least was the 1988 championship winning nitro funny car of drag racing legend Kenny Bernstein.

K.B’s hot rod was not only entrusted of me to haul to the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America’s induction ceremony in downtown Detroit where Kenny himself was being enshrined. I was given the opportunity to bring the famous nitro burning beast home for the night. This was simply as surreal experience given that I am a motorsport aficionado and a self proclaimed historian of modern drag racing. I would have done this pro-bono given my affinity to nitro burning floppers, however just as Force I needed the money to get to an event. After all this is the dream I’m chasing! Of course I did what any kid would do if given the chance to spend quality time on their terms with their “when I grow up” dream. I’ll save some space here, but let’s just say I all but slept in the 20 year old piece of drag racing nostalgia while it was strapped down in my trailer. My synopsis of the activity itself… AWESOME! I made hundreds of makeshift passes down quarter mile drag strips all over the world at the controls and butterfly’ s of K.B’s mount. Attached are a few of many pictures I hope you enjoy which I snapped while hauling around priceless motorsport works of art. As I’m sure you can guess, when I returned to the Filmore Theater to load K.B’s hot rod after his induction I shared stories with he and Brandon Bernstein (his son and current driver of the Budweiser top fuel dragster) of my night with Cinderella. Never to be lost is the fact I one day hope to have some aspiring driver relaying stories of a similar caliber about one of my old hot rods. I have to thank the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America, especially Ron Watson who entrusted the vintage pieces to my care. John Force, top that! Until next time… Live Fast, Drive Hard!!!

From Michigan to Ohio & 50,000 fans in between!

On Friday night Brian O and the Pepsi Racing team charged into the 13th qualifying position at Milan Dragway and moved into 12th place in Aeroquip All Motor division heads-up points standings, four positions higher than the team started out at three races ago. In the first round Olatunji was first off the starting line by a large six tenths of a second .062 to .128, but was chased down by the eventual race winner. The purple rocket is continuing to make improvements race after race, Harold Martin and his team of engineers are now aligned with our program to ensure constant improvement and ultimately on track success.

Before eliminations began at Milan Dragway, and for the third race in a row, Brian O spoke over the PA to the thousands of fans in attendance. He discussed the double header weekend the team was entering and got in Marketing Partner mentions of Pepsi, Toyo Tires, Lucas Oil, North Channel Graphics, Bell Helmets, Jeg’s and DTS.

Immediately the crew got to work packing up the massive pit area arrangement in preparation to make the over 150 mile trip down to Norwalk, Ohio for the largest single day drag racing event in the world. The Night Under Fire actually starts in the day time with qualifying at 9 am so the crew knew they needed to act quickly. Unfortunately they discovered a broken throttle cable and made a 4 am pit stop to the team’s race shop in Detroit to repair the broken part. Thrashing quickly the crew returned to the road at 5 am in route to Norwalk Raceway Park. This trip to Detroit added an additional 100 miles to an already long night. Despite the minor obstacle the team arrived at the race track in time to assemble the team’s pit area which includes most of the items listed above and the team qualified in the 22nd position in the over 200 car field of Pro bracket cars.

Fans were drawn to the Pepsi Racing pits and scooped up hero cards, waited in line for Brian Olatunji autographs and posed for pictures with the future drag racing star. In Round One Brian O and team were victorious, but the event was canceled due to persistent rain. The team will be headed out to Milan Dragway later this week for some testing laps to continue to dial in the hot rod in anticipation to better and faster results at the next event at Milan Dragway on Friday, September 4th. The crew has already made improvements to the throttle assembly by adding a linkage courtesy of a trip to Skinny Kid race cars fabrication shop.

Detroit, MI – Aspiring 27 year old NHRA Fuel Funny Car driver and 2005 graduate of Kettering University in Mechanical Engineering, Brian Olatunji driver of the Pepsi racing team for Leadfoot Media are proud to announce the addition of the biggest single day drag race in the world to their already action packed schedule. The additional race will be the Night Under Fire at Norwalk Raceway Park on Saturday August 1st. The night before the team will compete in their regularly scheduled NHRA All Motor heads-up event at Milan Dragway in front of the sold out crowd of more than 10,000 spectators. Olatunji and team are firmly entrenched in a battle sure to go down to the final event of the season. The team is excited to partner with Harold Martin and Martin Motorsports with their engine combination and this alliance will provide the horsepower to garner a final round finish and ultimately a win.

Olatunji and team are preparing for no rest as they look to make the trip from Milan Dragway in Milan, MI late Friday night to Norwalk Raceway Park in Norwalk, OH for qualifying set to begin bright and early at 9 am. “My team and I are no strangers to this situation and we are looking forward to representing our marketing partners with professionalism and style. We are accustom to lack of rest as our marketing arm has been working intensely on our current program as well as programs centered on future activities in the alcohol and nitro ranks,” said Olatunji. The team is proud of their alliance with Pepsi and is currently in negotiations with several other world class corporations in anticipation for the 2010 NHRA Full Throttle and Lucas Oil seasons. “We thank Mr. William Langford at Pepsi for our partnership and look to provide and increase our value and relationship into the future,” expressed a focused Olatunji.

Brian Olatunji, a 2004 graduate of Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School with a license in Top Alcohol Funny Car, has aligned with a championship team owner in the NHRA Nitro Funny Car division with the goal of competing during the 2010 NHRA season. “We made the decision to attend the night under fire event to expose ourselves to the drag racing marketplace and continue our quest to get one of our autograph cards in the hands of every fan in attendance at one of our events. This is why we are excited about our collector’s edition autograph card available at these events only.” Given Olatunji’s popularity in and around his hometown of Detroit, the Night Under Fire will be the ideal venue to continue to expand that reach.

Brian O destroyed not one but two throttle pedals in route to an early round exit during the third race of the Aeroquip Heads-Up series at Milan Dragway. Coming off of a number 14 qualifying position both Brian O and the Pepsi Racing team were excited and focused on competing for the race win. However the now infamous throttle incidents courtesy of the Leadfoot himself have not only solidified the moniker ‘Leadfoot’ but also given credence to the urban legend. When Brian O, was asked in post race media of the results from the event, he simply replied… “They don’t call me Leadfoot for nothing!”

To no avail this is an issue the team will have resolved and tested prior to the next event scheduled at Milan Dragway on Friday, July 31st. “I am confident my team will give me an indestructible throttle pedal for the next event and a hot rod capable of competing for the win,” said Brian O.

Leadfoot Media worked with Milan Dragway in advance to entertain the thousands of fans at the race. In between rounds, Brian O and the two Leadfoot models took the hot red Pepsi golf cart in front of the main grandstands. This signaled the track announcers to tell the crowd that they were about to be part of a contest with 10,000 other participants. The rules were simple. The section that screamed “Brian O” the loudest would have the honor of catching Lucas Oil t-shirts and Toyo Tires hats from the Pepsi Racing driver and the Leadfoot Media models. The announcers on the PA quickly hyped up the screaming audience as Brian O and the models egged them on.

“Complete pandemonium, but it was awesome!” – Brian O

The fans were so loud and enthusiastic that when the 10 Lucas Oil t-shirts and 2 Toyo Tires hats were all gone, Brian O opened the cooler in the golf cart and began passing out ice cold Pepsi Colas to the enthusiastic audience. Afterwards there was a mad dash of spectators to the Pepsi Racing pit area where many autographs and fans for life were born.

For the second race in a row, Brian O visited the control tower at Milan Dragway to participate in a long interview over the PA. Brain was allowed free reign to excite the fans and over the course of the speech/interview got in strategic Marketing Partner mentions of Pepsi, Toyo Tires, Lucas Oil, North Channel Graphics, Jeg’s and DTS.

Moooovin’ on up… toooo, the east side! Taken from the intro to the old television sitcom “The Jeffersons.” That’s how I felt after our most recent event this past Friday, July 3rd. We improved our qualifying position from the previous event by two spots to #14 from #16. I am excited about the potential performance of our hot rod given we improved our position in both qualifying and the points chase with not only one but two broken throttle pedals. I suppose I had to earn my “Leadfoot” moniker at the race track by some antic. Obviously unplanned but a reality no less the first of two throttle pedals was broken during the first qualifying pass. I knew something was wrong during the run with the throttle assembly when the car stopped accelerating down track. Upon investigation after I got out of the hot rod on the big end my assumptions were true. My crew immediately went to work on the damaged pedal where I notoriously broke the welds on the pedal assembly to find a tig weld for repair. Thank God for our friends at Skinny Kid race cars who where on site with their hot rod who made the necessary repair. Given the time to repair the pedal we missed our second qualifying opportunity which left only one shot at making the field. With the hot rod repaired all the pressured rested on my shoulders to make a pass quick enough to earn a spot in the sixteen car field.

As the RPM’s soared during the burnout during my final qualifying attempt so did my confidence that I was poised to lay down a lap to garner a place in the field. I took the green light and everything felt great until I got to the 330’ marker and not only did the rpm’s drop but so did the throttle pedal once more. So I took a glance at the gauges and I knew there was only one thing to do… Keep my foot in it! After all I did not want to explain to our partners that we missed the show. After the pass I was a bit disappointed in the second throttle pedal failure. I guess you can not only call me “Leadfoot” but also Fred Flintstone as I tried to put my feet through the floorboards to assist the hot rod down the track at a quicker pace.

My disappointment subsided once I returned to my pit area only to find out we had in-fact made the field and were qualified #14. The ups and downs continued as my team scrambled to repair the broken throttle pedal once more only to run out of time. Therefore we missed the call for first round eliminations. I guess you can say all is fair in love and war. One thing I can assure you is the throttle pedal will be virtually indestructible from here on out, but then again even the Titanic was suppose to be unsinkable. lol

This time our travels home were uneventful and welcome unlike the events which took place with our trailer on the way home from our first event. Tomorrow is America’s holiday, July 4th and I’m looking forward to spending time with the family. Our next event is the 31st of July at Milan Dragway and I hope to see you there. Until then… Live Fast, Drive Hard!!!

Actually I mean that literally. So, I’m exhausted riding shotgun on the way back from our first event of the season and my Uncle pulls over for fuel. Seems normal, right? Well, stay tuned. He knocks on my window where my head is braced and says, “B, the trailer tire is gone!” Of course I think I’m dreaming considering I’ve just dosed off and been up for almost 46 consecutive hours. As I awake he mentions again, “B, you won’t believe this. The Wheel is GONE!” At this point I recognize this is definitely not a dream. So I exit the truck only to see that not only is the wheel gone; but also the brake assembly, wheel and tire as well as the studs which the wheel bolt to. Through my exhaustion and disbelief that we’ve been barrowing down I-94 with 10,000 lbs of equipment at about 65 mph for almost an hour I break into a hysterical laugh. In fact we both do. I mean this scene could have been a real catastrophe. Needless to say I know the man above was watching out for us. No worst for wear we limped our three l egged dog home and had this unbelievable story to gain from. And to answer your question, NO! We never found the “whole” wheel assembly or any parts of it for that matter and couldn’t tell you where it decided to “dip out” from the trailer. Lol.

Yes, we qualified the Pepsi ride! Just snuck into the field #16 but we still made the show. For our first time out in two years we accomplished our goals for the event and managed to get a story and a few pictures for the scrap book as well! Now that it’s racing season I expect to see you all out at our events. Right now, sleep is beyond necessary so check back soon for updates. Until then… Live Fast, Drive Hard!

My Vice President Ian Moore, crew chief Uncle Johnny and I have been burning both ends of the candle lately getting ready for the season. As exciting as it is to sign a new major partner there is twice the amount of work to update everything. From vehicle, trailer, and golf cart graphics — to new crew apparel, pit art, autograph cards and a completely new website among other things there is much to finish prior to our first event of the season June 5th at Milan Dragway.

Those items are only on the marketing side. I am also working with our crew on a new engine combination which should allow us to be more competitive from the onset. I also need to ensure all of our support equipment (i.e. truck, trailer) is ready for the season ahead as well as order parts from our many supporters. We’ll receive rubber from Toyo Tires, lubricants from Lucas Oil, apparel from Vicci, parts from Jeg’s and safety equipment from Bell. We are pleased to welcome back each of these companies and look to continue to be apart of their marketing portfolio. North Channel Graphics will again adorn our hot rod. From the looks of our recently finished Leadfoot Media car renders it will be one bad ass looking Pepsi race car. The arrivals are always an exciting time for me as I anticipate the season and see the plan coming together! We also upgraded a litany of safety items on the hot rod by way of a trip to Skinny Kid race cars for a funny car roll cage upgrade.

I’m always amazed at how my corporate experience correlates to our racing program. With the need to ensure we meet our objectives tight timing is not only developed but kept and the only way we can guarantee success. We are now only weeks away from the season opener and things are coming together pretty good. Of course there are always obstacles. To quote my favorite rapper Jay Z, “difficult takes a day, impossible takes a week!” In the meantime I have to get back to the grind… See you at the races soon. Until then… Live fast, Drive hard!!!

Detroit, MI – Aspiring 26 year old NHRA Fuel Funny Car driver Brian Olatunji and the Leadfoot Motorsports team are proud to announce PepsiCo and the Pepsi brand as their major marketing partner for the upcoming 2009 NHRA All Motor division. Brian O and team will fly the patriotic Pepsi colors during competition in hopes to capture the 2009 NHRA All Motor title. Given the current state of the economy Olatunji and team more than welcome the addition, however they are pleased a world class corporation such as Pepsi recognized the value of their organization. “We are pleased, excited and humbled to represent Pepsi and look to meet our objectives in hopes that this is the beginning of a long and prosperous relationship,” said Olatunji team owner and driver. “Our goals at Leadfoot Motorsports, LLC have always been to align with world class corporations and we know there is value in our partnership. We look to demonstrate that value through collective actions centered on brand identity and ultimately driving sales.”

Brian O and team are meticulously preparing the team’s Chevrolet Monte Carlo for competition and slated to debut June 5th at Milan Dragway. “We thank Mr. William Langford at PepsiCo for believing in our program and offering the opportunity to increase one-another’s value. To our many fans look for a dynamic marketing campaign filled with opportunities to win Pepsi and Leadfoot Media items as well as a sleek new scheme on the hot rod and website to follow,” expressed a jubilant Olatunji.

Yep, you read it right my team and I will represent Pepsi for the upcoming 2009 NHRA drag racing season. As excited as I am, the first order of business it to congratulate my team for their dedication and focus leading up to this ground breaking announcement for our program. I also want to take a moment to thank the fans for standing by us in the past with all of our previous marketing partners. I’m sure you all will continue to show love to our partners. As I hope you know without you this isn’t possible and your support is the only way to continue to build our program into a championship contender. We are more than looking forward to representing Pepsi and adding value to the brand. Now on the flip side, we’ve got quite a bit of work to do in preparation for the impending season. Check back soon… Until then… Live Fast, Drive Hard!!!

Although I don’t smoke I somewhat think of the day we capture a “big” sponsorship deal as the time when I’ll exude mixed emotions. On one hand complete excitement and the exhilaration of conquering the initial business part of the equation. On the other hand, an anxious feeling of the unknown and the immediate realization of the task at hand…. ROI! Considering this game is very much about business, from the board room to the race track, back to the board room I think of the board room as my hot rod when not competing at the race track. This vehicle is very much exciting due to the immense competition for attention and the all important green back, although without a helmet and a uniform of a different persuasion from my sponsor laden fire suite.

When courting a perspective marketing partner my team and I tend to create full scale marketing initiatives. With these well laid plans we develop a relationship with our work which morphs into a full blown addiction. Although we enter each “perspective” opportunity with optimism, we also understand the likely hood of the deal moving from the perspective, to the actual realm.

In my estimation the act of “drag racing” articulates from the art of “gettin’ it done in the board room!” At times there is something to be desired when the “big wig” meeting concludes and other times there is euphoria. Albeit subdued the feeling of certainty at times enters the equation of uncertainty, and… well, all variables. Such was the case recently, where we all but signed on the dotted before our efforts were acknowledged with the ever-present “NO”. “Chasing deals” is comparable to looking for that elusive .01 of a second or 5 mph. Not impossible by any stretch of the imagination but hard fought where the victor gets to enjoy the bellowing smoke of a hand rolled stogie…

Until next time… Live fast, drive hard!!!

Wow, it’s been forever since I’ve addressed the millions of rabid fans awaiting my next post… O.K., I just woke from the dream that will some day be my life. However there have been many things which have transpired since my last rant. Some notable and others not so interesting. One of the biggest has been the lost of my really good friend Eric Medlen or EM as I use to call him. I’ve since thought many times how I should pay tribute to him here; however I felt the need to deal with his lost personally and pay homage to the life and spirit he left behind through my actions.

Speaking of things “lost” one of those for me is the innocence of the business realm of professional drag racing. I know, I know… I’m not a pro just yet, however the state of mind my team and me operate is that of a professional nature in every since of the word. I believe the only way to prepare for the unknown is to somehow put yourself in that position through observation (somewhat emulation) of those you aspire to compete with. Getting back to the lost innocence is my forward knowledge of what is actually required to step into the professional spotlight. These things include preparing my mind, body and spirit for the grind set to commence. Little things come to play such as getting proper rest and eating right while on the road. My day job has prepared me for this business of racing from the traveling aspect due to my hectic schedule and being out of town for countless weeks at a time. Realistically how is one to know this takes a toll on someone aspiring for racing glory when all you really wanted to do was drive a bad ass hot rod. In addition to this, dealing with multiple platforms of people as a manager at work is a warm up for the media and fans (whom I’m emphatic of) and will definitely prepare me for the next level when I catch “the dream.” This loss of innocence has its pro’s and con’s however it’s what I’ve grown accustom to and “the dream” is all I’ve ever wanted so I must prepare for the known and unknown and embrace the unexpected. Until next time… Live fast, drive hard!!!

Detroit, MI – Aspiring 24 year old NHRA Fuel Funny Car driver Brian Olatunji has decided to run a limited schedule for the 2007 drag racing season in favor of utilizing his and Leadfoot Motorsports’ resources to acquire the funding to compete at the sport’s highest level. After a successful 2006 campaign, which saw the team dawn the colors of Von Dutch as a primary sponsor, Brian and his marketing company—Leadfoot Marketing (a division of Leadfoot Motorsports)—are making a consorted effort to put the right corporate partner at the forefront of NHRA PowerAde drag racing.

Last season Brian spent much of his time at the wheel of the team’s Chevrolet Monte Carlo Super Gas entry. The same can be expected this season, however only on a limited schedule. “Last season was fantastic representing; Von Dutch, Sherwin Williams / Planet Color, Lucas Oil, Jegs, Toyo Tires, Splitfire Spark Plugs, Drive Train Specialists, Print Max, Bell Racing Company, North Channel Graphics and Olaraceway.com. The fan reception was great and acquiring seat time is paramount regardless of the category. All in all it was a definite success!” Olatunji commented.

Brian went on to add that, “last season we went to 17 events, however this season we intend on competing in much fewer. Our schedule has not been finalized, however I expect somewhere around half as many as last season.”

In spite of a consolidated schedule, the licensed Top Alcohol Funny Car driver and 2005 Mechanical Engineering graduate of Kettering University is focused on finding a corporate partner in hopes of cultivating a career in the drag racing limelight. “The key is representing a company who is just as emphatic about representing you as you are about them. Meeting the objectives of the company is always at the forefront of your marketing initiatives; however a career partner that will not compromise winning on and off the race track is essential,” Olatunji revealed.

With Leadfoot Marketing’s proven track record of finding corporate partners to establish Brian O’s imminent professional career, they are confident that an ideal partnership will be forged.

Decisions at times can be very difficult to make and ultimately determine which way you go when posed with the fork in the road of life. Such is the case for my team and me. Following up a successful campaign (2006 season) with another is marquee, however the focus has somewhat changed while the objectives remain the same. Ultimately the goal of all of our collective efforts is to land yours truly in a competitive fuel ride in the NHRA’s top series. The current state of the sport and motorsports in general warrant the ideal time to strive for the NHRA’s pinnacle professional series right about now.

Considering I’m only 24 and soon to be 25 years old, I feel as though the world is passing me by, however I have to keep in mind I am a very ambitious person. Much can be said of our ultra creative and equally ambitious staff at Leadfoot Motorsports. Undaunted by the decision to run the “Purple Rocket” at considerably less events this season, my team and I are hell bent on making the ultimate transition from the sportsmen ranks to the pro’s. Our sport has reached a fever pitch with the addition of many new faces and exciting personalities. I know my imminent transition to the professional ranks will help it reach the summit of all professional motorsports. I am truly looking forward to the day we establish a marketing partner who has just as much of a vested interest in me and my team as we do them. For one, this sport is all about passion and I couldn’t think of representing anyone who didn’t possess this quality. In my next rant I’ll divulge deeper. Until next time… Live fast, drive hard!!!

Now that the new year is in full tilt, figured a few resolutions were applicable although I’m not much of a resolution kinda guy. Typically I make goals and try my best to achieve them. This year is no different, however I figured it was time to try my luck with a musical instrument. The instrument I’m currently learning is…. Drum roll please, (pun intended); actually it’s the bass guitar. I chose the bass guitar, for one, because it’s flat out cool and also because my step father plays and brings the house down when a jam session commences. The bass is a unique instrument because there are two different versions similar to differences between wheeling an 8,000 hp fuel funny car vs. a top fuel dragster down the quarter mile. The bass guitar is a beast to master just as a short wheel base funny car is a cosmic animal.

I like to believe precision as a world class driver and a great bass guitarist are necessary. If you are late on the light it’s likely you have just handed your opponent a free pass to the next round and miss handling one of the bass’ cord’s can reek havoc on a classic tune. Overall I am really enjoying my new found hobby and maybe one day I can introduce the world to Brian O. the race car driver and bass guitarist on an ESPN telecast. Until next time… Live fast, drive hard!!!

Detroit, MI – When company president and CEO of Leadfoot Motorsports, Brian Olatunji, approached his company with the idea for a summer model search, his employees were rather hesitant. “Where would the models come from?” and “What big name would help gravitate those models to us?” Vice President of Marketing, Ian Moore wondered.

With a little planning and dedication, both of his questions were answered at the beginning of February 2006.

Olatunji traveled cross county where he wowed Von Dutch with his drive and personality and soon a partnership ensued. Upon his return, employees of Leadfoot Motorsports began a campaign which included plastering the internet with press releases of these companies collaboration in hopes of attracting worthy candidates. Olatunji’s vision of Von Dutch/Leadfoot Motorsports model search had officially turned into a reality.

More than 200 contestants have applied for the 2006 Von Dutch/Leadfoot Motorsports model search since its opening competition on May 5, 2006. Eight beautiful models were fortunate enough to be selected as finalists.

Kasee, Jami, Cindy, Michelle, Scherry, Melissa, Jane and Amber have endured stifling heat, torrential rains, anxious crowds and hours of standing in stilettos in order to reach their coveted status. “It has been a long process to get to this point. At lot of patience is necessary when entering a competition like this, but in the end, I know it will be worth it,” one model revealed.

At each Friday night head-up race Olatunji participated in [held at Milan Dragway in Milan, MI], three to four talented ladies were invited out to display their promotional prowess while Leadfoot Advisor Helena Olatunji as well as Special Events Coordinator Desiree Harrison supervised.

The lady who expressed the most poise, drive and personality beat out the competition and became that month’s beauty. But the competition didn’t end there. Next, the ladies had to impress Harrison with their eloquence and overall passion for promotional modeling during a half hour phone interview. “These ladies were entered into the competition because of their looks and moved on because of their outgoing personality,” Harrison commented. “But as a finalist, [Leadfoot Motorsports and Von Dutch] want a model who can also speak well and represent Brian and the collective image of Von Dutch/Leadfoot Motorsports in a positive light.”

On November 4, 2006, Olatunji and his crew will make the trek to Milan for the last Skinny Kid Heads-Up race of the season. Olatunji’s advisor, as well as Harrison will be on hand with the finalists, were each will have the last chance to see who is worthy of being crowned the winner. For this last race, they will have additional help however, as four judges associated with Leadfoot Motorsports have been invited to come. Whoever does win is bound to raise their model status as she will be a part of an upcoming ad campaign for Von Dutch.

Until November 4th, the ladies are remaining positive and are making sure they keep up on Leadfoot’s news. Telling everyone they know to vote for them on Leadfoot’s website www.olaraceway.com is also a priority and has held to much excitement.

Olatunji himself is excited about the competition and has spoken with each finalist in the hopes of keeping a connection between himself and all aspects of his company. “I wanted to personally introduce myself so [the models] could get a feel of who they might be representing.” He even put his own message up on his website for the model finalists: “I wish you good luck and continued success in pursuing your dreams…live fast, drive hard!!”

On November 4th at Milan Dragway [www.milandragway.com] we’ll see which of the eight finalists will live out their modeling dream of being featured in a Von Dutch ad!

I’m currently sitting on an airplane ready to depart from Memphis to head home from business. The last two weeks have been a blur, however we have quite a few irons in the fire for next season and I am really excited about the potential to really make it happen. In my last rant I spoke a lot about the mysterious “sound beneath the valve covers.” As you can see from the latest press release we managed to make it to the most recent race last weekend so that pretty much answers the questions regarding the Purple Rocket.

Of course that was a good thing considering it was not as serious as I initially thought. I guess you can say it’s good to consider the worst at times that way you can be both prepared if that is the case or surprised to find out it isn’t. However, I was a bit apprehensive at the event after round one due to another unique sound from the engine bay. Upon further investigation we found the bolts which attach the converter to the flywheel found a way to loosen themselves. Seems that happens when the engine is turning 7600 rpm’s thru the big end (racer slang for – finish line).

I also mentioned a photo shot as well. I had the pleasure of being interviewed by a fantastic reporter in Raneeka Claxton as a feature in Twist Magazine as, “Guy of the Month.” Twist is a weekly magazine included in the weekend edition of the Detroit News / Free Press. If you are interested you can check out the interview here: http://freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2006610080308.

The coolest thing about getting an interview in a non-racing related publication is hearing from old friends and people I don’t get to speak to on the regular. Usually when people see things such as this they drop me an e-mail and it is always good to hear from them. Anyway, the doors on the flight are closing and the last call for electronic devices has been issued so I gotta run. Until next time keep your fingers crossed. Hopefully we will have something to announce soon… Live fast, drive hard!!! Later…

Milan, MI – Turns out the weather in Michigan is just about ideal to usher in this month’s rendition of the Friday night heads-up shootout set to take place at Milan dragway. Weather forecasts are projected in the low 60’s with sunshine and an artistic stroke of blue sky. Brian Olatunji and the Von Dutch / Olaraceway.com team are loaded for bare and ready to take on the competition in what promises to be the best conditions of the season. “I am pumped. Not only because, I know thousands of fans will turn out tonight, but because the conditions are prime for us to really put on a show. My friends and family will be at the event which is always a positive although it definitely makes the day more hectic,” said Olatunji. Although Olatunji seems to have a lot on his plate these days, focus is never an issue because he and the Von Dutch / Olaraceway.com team along with the Purple Rocket are ready to rock!

I know, I know. It’s been awhile. Lately I have been busier than usual with frequent trips out of town for business as well as racing just about every weekend. In addition to all of that it’s that time of year where we are chasing money looking for marketing partners for the 2007 season. The goal is to move up in classification to the Top Alcohol Funny Car category. I have some very good opportunities; however they revolve around finding adequate funding to compete. Keep in mind we are looking at opportunities to compete with a top notch championship caliber team. Having said that my marketing team and I have been beating the bushes and we do have some irons in the fire.

This past weekend we were at the Funny Car Nationals at US 131 Motorsports Park. Although, the weather was superb for a late summer weekend things did not go very well with the purple rocket. Unfortunately, after only one pass a quick check under the valve covers revealed a destroyed push rod, broken rocker arm, damaged retainer and a missing lash cap. For those of you in the know the missing lash cap was of great concern considering it could potentially be stuck somewhere in the motor. Due to the parts failure we were forced to load up early despite our intentions to leave with something shinny and a little of that green stuff made for spending. Oh well, that’s racing. However, the fans were great and made the trip itself very much worth it.

When we returned home I tore the top of the engine down and there is where I discovered the missing lash cap. This came as somewhat of a relief. I also inspected the lifter which was undamaged meaning the cam lobe was not wiped out. Wheeeew… Fast forward to Tuesday after an all night thrash to get the hot rod ready for a photo shoot and the engine sounded awesome until we attempted to start it for the second time. This is where a unique sound came from beneath the valve covers. Hopefully it isn’t much besides a valve adjustment. We were unable to investigate the root cause because we needed to get the purple rocket ready for a guest appearance with the camera and a highly skilled photog who goes by Kyle Keener. I’ll let you know all about the photo shoot in my next rant. Keep your fingers crossed that the mysterious sound from “beneath the covers” isn’t much more that a minor adjustment.

Until next time… Live fast, drive hard! Later…

Getting excited about the worlds largest one day cruise is never hard to do especially when it’s in your own backyard, The Motor City. Now add in the fact my hot rod was on display as one of the many attractions at this year’s festival of cars and car culture. Last year I was there with the VIPsports Top Alcohol Funny Car team and this year Toyo Tires asked us to represent them to the crowds of adorning gear heads. On behalf of both Toyo Tires and Leadfoot Motorsports the fans were absolutely awesome.

In spite of persistent rain much of the day, people came out to the event and stopped by our display non-stop. One of my favorite things to do besides wheeling some fuel burning beast down the 1320 is interacting with the fans as well as answering questions pertaining to our many marketing partners. In this case Toyo Tres was the star of the show for obvious reasons, however our numerous other partners received ample support as well. If you have never been to the dream cruise I would advise you to make it one of those things you do to complete you fan resume. This event is one that can’t be summed into words. For one the sheer magnitude of the event itself and the million plus people that attend make it a very special place to be. Detroit definitely earned its right to use the “Motor City” moniker this weekend. Even Rob from Toyo Tires could not believe so many people turned out to the event knowing hard rain was in the forecast for much of the day.

In addition to representing Toyo Tres, we were also pleased to have the addition of Jamie who is one of the lovely ladies competing for the title of Ms. Von Dutch / Leadfoot Motorsports. Jamie did an excellent job in representing herself, Leadfoot, Toyo and all of our other marketing partners. I think she has a bright future in modeling as well as anything else she decides to be involved with. Now that the show is over our next focus is to get the purple rocket ready for the biggest race on the IHRA’s schedule. The IHRA World Finals in Norwalk, OH at Norwalk Raceway Park will be our next event. The event begins this week August 24 – August 27th. Wish us luck as we look to capture our first Ironman! Until next time… live fast, drive hard!!!

Detroit, MI – Every year the Woodward Dream Cruise gets bigger and better and this year, on August 19th, fans will discover 2006’s added bonus when passing Woodward at 13 mile road. At this intersection, industry leading tire company Toyo Tires will feature Detroit based drag racer Brian Olatunji and his Olaraceway.com / Von Dutch Chevy Monte Carlo. Although, it’s not rumbling down the 16 mile route with all the other classic hot rods, true car fans will have to stop and stare in awe at Olatunji’s decorated door slammer, known as the ‘purple rocket’. Complete with a 468 Cubic Inch Big Block Chevy engine and T-tops to adorn the 1978 masterpiece, Olatunji’s purple rocket will be one of a kind at the world’s largest one day car celebration and is not to be missed.

Olatunji will also be on hand to greet fans, sign hero cards, and give the young and those fortunate enough to remember drag racing’s infancy the chance to get up close and personal with the fuel burning beast. “I’m very thankful to have Toyo Tires as a sponsor and am grateful that they have given me the opportunity to represent them every time I go down the drag strip. Coming to the [Woodward Dream] Cruise has been a family tradition for years and now I’m fortunate enough to be one of the main attractions,” Olatunji shared. Toyo Tires is currently a proud sponsor of Leadfoot Motorsports, of which Olatunji is the founder and CEO. For more information, please visit www.toyo.com and www.olaraceway.com.

The Dream Cruise runs from 9a.m. to 9p.m. on August 19th and is free to all.

I knew this weekend would be a success as soon as I saw my engine builder James “J” roll up with that Hot Box (Nitrous Bottle Heating System). My team and I have been waiting on this for a few weeks and finally having it in my possession took the race day stress off a little bit. My crew and I got to Milan in the early afternoon and made two passes before the night was over. The engine and car overall felt and sounded really strong and we were able to put up some good numbers. Of course as a racer I am never satisfied. You can check out the results page for the details. My crew chief will be working from now until the next race to make the purple rocket fly ever faster with what’s in that Hot Box—N2O! We’re finally getting a handle on the new combination and I can’t wait!

Even though all of my family wasn’t at this Skinny Kid’s race, I got all the love and support I needed from the fans coming over to the Leadfoot pit to check out the car and get an autographed hero card. But I can’t say that I was the only reason the male fans came over…the third set of models came out for the race and had guys making consistent stops to our pit early and often. These models were probably our most talented set yet…I hope some of you got the chance to see their modeling portfolios when you stopped by the pit. I must admit that the judges had a really tough job on their hands when deciding who would advance but congratulations to both Melissa and Scherry for making it to the next round! These ladies really impressed the judges…they will be interviewed for my website in a few days so bookmark the website and check back for their interviews.

I love doing things for other people which is why I agreed to be the main attraction of a car show in Detroit on Saturday. It was the 1st Annual Youth Empowerment car show and the main focus were the youth of Detroit. I’m all about the kids and whenever I have the chance, I’ll do all I can to help improve their days and hopefully enrich their lives. For the entire day I talked to young adults and young children who love cars and just wanted to see someone like them making it in this crazy business. I was elated that I could be that person. Before the night was over countless kids had made their way over to the Leadfoot pit for a coloring contest. There were some really serious contenders, however in the end 3-year old Jaiden proved too much to handle as she beat out everyone and was declared the winner! The kids also had the chance to sit in my hot rod and feel what it’s like to be in the hot seat. The most talented future racer had to be 2 and 1/2 year old Antoine…he touched all the right levels and even shifted his whole body to get down and touch the pedals. After much begging and pleading, he even convinced me to close the driver’s door so he could feel like a real racer. His mother couldn’t get the smile off of his face for the rest of the night. Seeing the promise and joy in his and the eyes of all the other children I met made all the trials and tribulations my crew and I have been through this season worth it. Overall things are going well. From a guy chasing his dream and also living it, live fast, drive hard!!! Later…

Held at 3952 Dickerson St. in Detroit, MI, this annual car show is used to bring Detroit’s youth together for an afternoon of fun in a safe environment as well as raise funding for the community center.

Seeing cool cars and the adult drivers who grew up in the same neighborhoods as them has given the youth inspiration in the past. “I want to make sure that I always give back to my community in anyway that I can. If I am an inspiration for even one child, that is very gratifying and worth wile of my attendance. Detroit is where I grew up and a piece of my heart will always be here,” Olatunji shared.

Milan, MI – Brian Olatunji and team Leadfoot Motorsports made a most valiant showing at the Suzuki Motor City Nationals, held July 7-9, 2006. The burnouts were sensational, the engine roared to perfection, qualifying went well and the 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo held up by Toyo tires sat fiercely at the starting line, only to be beaten by a 50 cent piece of equipment that popped off right before the take off of the ‘purple rocket’ on Saturday afternoon. “It’s disappointing to say the least… Unfortunately, the o-ring on the Trans dipstick tube failed causing Trans fluid to get onto the track, but this is drag racing…things happen, you learn and you move forward. My team did an excellent job all weekend and I’m confident great things are just around the corner,” Olatunji offered.

Drag racing fans from all over the country still stopped by the Leadfoot Motorsports pit area all weekend to get autographs, hero cards and another look at Olatunji’s revered Von Dutch / Olaraceway.com Chevy Monte Carlo Super Rod entry. Brian was even nice enough to let one young fan get behind the driver’s wheel before handing him an autographed hero card. “I wanted to sit in the purple hot rod and meet Brian,” the 5-year old enthusiastically shared. Olatunji is very dedicated to youth and has slated Leadfoot Motorsports to develop a program with the Boys and Girls Club of America in the near future.

The mood of Olatunji and the Leadfoot Motorsports team remains positive, which many fans commented on throughout the weekend. “He’s a really nice person [who] will come up and start a conversation with you even if the race didn’t go the way he wanted… some of these other [drag] racers who have been in the seat for years won’t make that effort for fans,” a drag racing fan of 15 years said of Olatunji.

The 2006 drag racing season will continue, as the broken part has been replaced and the team has planned to head out to test later this week. The next scheduled race is set to take place at National Trail Raceway, the Jeg’s NHRA Northern SPORTSnations for Olatunji and Leadfoot Motorsports for July 28-30, 2006. For the rest of Brian Olatunji’s racing schedule and information on the team’s many marketing partners, please check out the Leadfoot Motorsports website at www.olaraceway.com.

I’ve been waiting all season for the IHRA Motor City Nationals at Milan Dragway and here they are this weekend. The season is going by so fast and I’m loving every minute of it! I also love being able to do what I love, drag race, so close to Detroit, where I grew up. There should be many famous faces appearing in the stands as well as behind the wheel and I can’t wait to amaze them all!

The crew and I have been working around the clock to get the purple rocket running and looking its best. We’ll be prepared for all the challenges we might face over the three day event. Thank you to my fans, who are sending words of loyalty and encouragement through the Leadfoot Motorsports website! The purple rocket is ready to fly; this weekend ‘rock city’ is going to be blown away! Live fast, drive hard!!! Later…

I guess it doesn’t take long for a month to come and go when 16-20 hour days are the norm. Since the last update much hard work and preparation by my crew and I almost have us in a position for the grueling part of our schedule. It has also rained here in southeast Michigan for much of the month of May which didn’t provide many opportunities for testing.

However, we have weathered the storm and the performance of both the team and the car is coming around. Because of our great supporters such as Lucas Oil, Splitfire Spark Plugs and Jeg’s with their racer discount program we are looking forward to the continuous schedule which lay ahead. If you have not checked in on our lovely lady model search be sure to drop in and take a peak. In addition to Michelle both Jane and Amber were winners from the past two legs of our contest. Soon we will have interviews from each of the winners as well as constant updates on my team and I. Check back soon and don’t miss a beat.

Until next time… Live fast, drive hard!!!

Milan, MI – 24 year old aspiring Top Fuel Funny Car driver Brian Olatunji and Team Leadfoot Motorsports are heading into the 4th Annual Suzuki Motor City National presented by GM Performance Parts at Milan Dragway, which will be held July 7-9, 2006. With Olatunji currently holding a Top Alcohol Funny Car license, he and his Von Dutch / Olaraceway.com Chevrolet Monte Carlo Super Rod entry are ready to turn the drag racing world upside down as well as turn heads in the process. “This race is arguably our biggest of the season because of it being so close to home and a national event. The Super Rod class is filled with tremendous talent and I look forward to competing against the best in the world,” commented Olatunji.

Much preparation for this weekend has come from Friday night heads-up battles, IHRA Division 3 races and a killer tune-up prepared by Johnny Broaden, Brian’s uncle and crew chief. “Our Von Dutch/Olaraceway.com entry is ready to rock,” Olatunji shared. In the mist of all the rocking, provided courtesy of the IHRA eMax drag racing series, the team is looking to roll over the competition, with the help of their 468 Cubic Inch Big Block Chevy engine. Be sure to stop by the Von Dutch / Olaraceway.com pit area during the event as Olatunji is always eager to meet new fans.

Milan, MI – After spending three and a half hours trapped in a truck with the scorching sun piercing through the windshield, all the signs said to give up. But traffic jams, freeway closers and discomfort couldn’t keep Brian Olatunji™ and Team Leadfoot Motorsports™ away from the 2nd Skinny Kid Race Car’s Heads-Up Race of the season, held on June 2, 2006 at Milan Dragway. The usual trip to Milan Dragway is a short jaunt from Detroit no more than an hour where the team’s race shop is located. “We almost turned around and went home but we knew our fans were waiting for us [at Milan] so we pressed on, besides giving up is never an option. We owe it to our fans as well as our sponsors,” said Olatunji.

And right he was. Thousands of drag racing fans attended Friday night’s festivities and numerous were pleased to see Olatunji’s black polished 28ft. trailer roll onto the grounds. After unpacking, all of Leadfoot Motorsports™ team members dispersed into their individual tasks for the night while Olatunji signed autographs for his awaiting fans. “I wanted to make sure I had a hero card and a signature… I think they might be collector’s items one day,” revealed one fan.

With the traffic pushing the aspiring top fuel funny car racer behind schedule, no one was sure if Olatunji would be able to get into the driver’s seat of the team’s Von Dutch Olaraceway.com backed Chevy Monte Carlo at all that night. But before the sun fully set, Olatunji made one pass down the strip and now he and crew chief Johnny Broaden are anxious for the next race. “We broke a few pieces but those are easily replaced. We’ll be tested and ready for the [IHRA] Division 3 race in a couple of weeks,” assured Broaden.

Good fortune seemed to also be with the marketing aspect of Leadfoot Motorsports™. “We weren’t sure if any models were going to show up due to the traffic problems Michigan is having right now,” event planner Desiree Harrison shared. However two striking models made the journey to Milan and wowed the crowds while attracting them to the Leadfoot Motorsports™ pit area for its 1st merchandise raffle of the season.

By the end of the night, barbeque, laughs and stories had been shared by all, especially those who have supported Olatunji through the years. Before journeying home, Olatunji enjoyed a loving hug from his number one fan through all the years, his mother. “I couldn’t be prouder of my son; [racing] has been his dream since he was five years old…and now it’s starting to come true!”

Another week has come and gone and we are yet another day closer to the next event. During this past week we have firmed things up with Show and Go Customs which is the paint shop that will be applying our awesome scheme. We are also anxiously anticipating the arrival of our new trailer custom built to our specs from Vintage Trailers.

In the mean time we have also repaired a few odds and ins on the race car. These include the rerouting and rewiring of both the trans brake and line loc buttons. By the way our team crew shirts have arrived and I was going after a more unique and less traditional look and I feel these new shirts will do just that.

By the way be sure to check out the model search area because we have added some eye candy from the first event as well as the winner of the first leg of the contest, Michelle Woolcott. I’ll be the first to congratulate Michelle because she truly represented both Leadfoot Motorsports and Von Dutch well. Until next time, catch you later. Thanks!

The battle scars from the first race of the season consist of a two day trash and one qualifying pass that left a broken throttle cable and no usable data. However, we do know the engine is and will work great for us from the rumble and quick throttle response on my John Force style burnout. Overall the first race was a success because we really did not break anything and the fans reactions to our teams’ presence in the pit area were all well received.

We had many on lookers and just to think our “WOW” paint scheme hasn’t been applied. By the next heads-up event at Milan Dragway on June 2 nd the performance and appearance of the Leadfoot Motorsports clan will be in tip top shape. Just as the first race has wrapped up it’s time to continue the grind and get ready for the next event scheduled for May 27 th. Check back soon and I’ll let you know how things are comin’ or goin’ for that matter. Later!

‘Brian Olatunji and Leadfoot Motorsports have more up their Sleeves than Raw Horsepower with the Von Dutch / Leadfoot Motorsports Model Search at Milan Dragway’

Milan, MI – Leadfoot Motorsports led by driver Brian Olatunji and primary sponsor Von Dutch Originals has developed a program for the Skinny Kid Race cars heads-up race at Milan Dragway. This program involves the first annual Von Dutch / Leadfoot Motorsports model search. Leadfoot Motorsports will be on hand with some of the most beautiful young ladies in the country to compete for the opportunity to be featured in a Von Dutch ad campaign.

“The Friday night heads-up race is one of the most fun and entertaining nights of drag racing, therefore I decided to work with Von Dutch and Milan Dragway to further enhance these exciting events,” said Olatunji.

Milan, MI. – Spring training is already over which means it’s time for the real battle to begin. Let’s get ready to rumble…. The Friday night fights at Milan Dragway! Despite limited competition during the 2005 season Brian Olatunji is eager to get back behind the wheel of the Leadfoot Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo sponsored by Von Dutch to do battle. Anxiously anticipating the arrival of the new season the Leadfoot Motorsports team has been hard at work preparing a completely new combination as well as the announcement of a barrage of marketing partners who have joined the Leadfoot Motorsports family.

“The Skinny Kid Race cars heads-up race at Milan Dragway is the ideal venue to debut for our 2006 racing campaign. This is my home track and I look forward to the thousands of fans that I know will turn out to see the fastest door-slammers in the Midwest compete. This venue gives all of my family and friends the opportunity to come out and enjoy what is sure to be a great time,” said Olatunji.

Olatunji and Leadfoot Motorsports are ecstatic about the upcoming season and rightfully so with the addition of Von Dutch Originals as the teams primary sponsor. “Von Dutch is the most awesome company in the world to be associated with. I have to give Kai at Von Dutch credit because he has believed in me and my program from day one. Besides that the apparel represents the true racer and is the hottest on the market!”

Leadfoot Motorsports also has the expertise of Sherwin Williams Automotive Finishes and their new “Planet Color” product line on board. “Planet Color has given me my very own color in Purple Olatunji, what more can I say!” Team Leadfoot Motorsports would also like to thank the tremendous support received from Jeg’s, Lucas Oil Products, Toyo Tires, Drive Train Specialists, Split Fire Spark Plugs, Bell Racing and North Channel Graphics. These companies offer the finest in products and services and provide Leadfoot Motorsports with the ingredients for the winning combination.

For more information on Brian Olatunji, Leadfoot Motorsports or any of the marketing partners associated with Leadfoot Motorsports please visit www.olaraceway.com.

Well, you all the count down has officially begun. It is currently HELL WEEK. I don’t mean that in a negative way, however it’s time to dot the I’s and cross the T’s. My team and I are working in fifty different directions, although all going towards the same goal. I am working to get the hero cards printed, team crew shirts produced and most importantly awaiting the engine in the 25th hour from my engine builder for our up coming event this Friday, May 5th. I should have the engine in my possession today. Yes, that’s right two days before the event. I know what you’re thinking… That’s plenty of time, right… Well we still have to plumb the car for the juice (nitrous) so it’s going to take a little time to make sure it is right. However, I have an awesome team and I am confident we will be locked, loaded and ready to tear down that 1320 on Friday. On another note, I hope you are enjoying the site. Zach my webmaster and Leadfoot Marketing are always pushing the envelope and striving to make the site the very best and I am proud to have them in my corner. By the way we have also added some eye candy in the model search area. Enjoy! Thanks again and check back soon. Later!

I’m not sure if I should congratulate myself or Kenny at Pro-line trailers for FINALLY closing the deal with the trailer. We should expect to receive a black 28′ Vintage Outlaw trailer complete with chrome corners and chrome wheels the week of May 15 th. Considering this task is done the Leadfoot design team has to get back into the lab to concoct another visual desert to make the trailer truly representative of Leadfoot Motorsports, Von Dutch and Planet Color.

Speaking of eye candy we have just sent the informal renderings of our new paint scheme to the scientists at Planet Color and North Channel Graphics. Once it is completed it will be like rainfall to a drought… B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L… Stay tuned. We don’t want to give it away by releasing the rendering early, therefore you’ll have to wait till it’s applied. Meanwhile, today was very productive and we have a phenomenal photographer in Davide who will be working with us for the Von Dutch Leadfoot Motorsports model search at Milan Dragway on May 5 th. Davide’s creativity can be viewed at www.davidephotography.com. His creativity is sure to provide a great canvas of photographs for your viewing pleasure. With the race car rendering just about wrapped up as well as the confirmation of our new trailer’s build the list of things to do before the season kicks into high gear is moving along. Check back soon as I’ll have more info to update you with. As always, Thanks!

The excitement of spring is in the air with constant daily deliveries of race car parts arriving at our race shop. Today we received our new rear slicks and front runners from our sponsor Toyo Tires. Toyo has been working to develop tires for our combination for the past couple of seasons and we are looking forward to the performance we know they will provide. In addition to the tires we also received my helmet shell from Bell racing another of our marketing partners that our shop manager will have sent out to North Channel Graphics for an interesting concept to be applied by our graphics guy.

North Channel Graphics is known for their design and application of graphics on the Dodge Viper, Ford GT numerous NASCAR programs such as Mark Martin’s team and now they are part of the Leadfoot Motorsports family. Working with these companies allows me the opportunity to chase the dream because of their immense support. Today I have also been working with my sister Toyin. She is the Charity and Special events coordinator of Leadfoot Motorsports and also an employee of the United Way foundation. We have been discussing ideas on how to develop the Leadfoot Foundation charity program for the upcoming season. Hopefully we can make a little more progress on the approval of our new trailer tomorrow. Check back soon and I’ll keep you posted. Thanks!!!

Los Angeles, CA – Von Dutch Originals and Leadfoot Motorsports are searching for “serious”, professional models to lead the way by representing a well renowned designer as well as a groundbreaking and forthcoming superstar. Von Dutch, as you all know is a lifestyle brand and specifically a chic clothing company which caters to the stars. Leadfoot Motorsports, pioneered by Brian Olatunji, is a company well on its way to making a mark in drag racing.

This is Von Dutch’s first foray into the world of drag racing as a major sponsor and we would love nothing more than to set the standard in motorsports advertising along with Leadfoot Motorsports. Here is where you come in….

Von Dutch’s motto is: Freedom, Style, Sex, Power and Motion. and we are looking for the ideal young ladies that exude all of these qualities to represent Von Dutch and Leadfoot Motorsports for the 2006 racing season. To apply please send a headshot, two full body shots, a resume and contact information to models@olaraceway.com. You must be at least 18 years of age to apply and photos and information must be received by July 14th 2006. If you are looking for a doorway into the entertainment industry this could provide that avenue if you are ambitious enough to take it. We are looking for models with unique personality and beauty and invite all to apply!!!!

The selected models will compete for the opportunity to be featured as a calendar model, the title as Ms. Von Dutch / Leadfoot Motorsports 2006, and also an opportunity to be featured in an upcoming, Von Dutch clothing ad campaign. There will be at least two mandatory dates that you must attend, if you are selected as a finalist. The location will be at a raceway in the metro Detroit area and transportation is not provided.

This is a phenomenal opportunity to gain exposure with one of the most recognized companies in the fashion industry, as well as a chance to represent Leadfoot Motorsports in the drag racing limelight.

Feel free to stop by Von Dutch’s site at www.vondutch.com and Leadfoot Motorsports at www.olaraceway.com.

Hello everyone and welcome to my site. As you can see from our schedule our first race, scheduled May 5th, is fast approaching. Each day that passes is more like a week considering I am awaiting the arrival of the engine from the engine builder as well as our new trailer ordered three weeks ago. I’m also working on getting some new crew shirts to represent all of our marketing partners properly.

The car has gone through a complete transformation over the last two months. We have a complete new combination (i.e. engine, transmission, converter, rear-end gear, tire size and power adder). We are eagerly approaching the season optimistically with hope that the new combination will produce some awesome performance on the track. In addition to all of these changes with the combination, I am the only drag racer in the country sponsored by Sherwin Williams Automotive Finishes and their new “Planet Color” product line. The fine folks at Sherwin Williams have me beaming with the creation of my very own color – “Purple Olatunji.” If that’s not support then I don’t know what is. The Leadfoot Marketing team led by Vice President Ian Moore and I are currently working on a rendering for a new slammin’ paint scheme for the purple rocket. Hopefully we’ll have something to show you in the not to distant future. Check back soon as I’ll let you know how our progress is coming along. Thanks!!!
